Kowhaiwhai Pattern l Step it up

We have doing the summer learning journey this week, I have done the step it up for the kowhaiwhai pattern.

First, I looked on the summer learning to know how to do the step it up kowhaiwhai pattern.

After, I started making the kowhaiwhai pattern, I got to use korus, and kapes, the kapes are the ones with the line and curve.

I thought donig the step it up activity was fun, since we got to use two maori shapes.

LI: to do a koru and kape.

Optical illusion l I made one?!

Today for Summer Learning Journey (2020SLJ), I did optical illusion.

First, I looked on the video, so I could get information and learn about the optical illusion, I also watched the video to know how to make one.

After, I started making my optical illusion, I chose it to make it in squares, I first changed the color of the background into black, and then made the boxes into transparent squares so you can see the black through  it.

I enjoyed creating this, and had fun learning about a optical illusion, I also liked how the optical illusion looks kind of cool!

Te Reo Maori l SLJ

I carried on being active for the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) today, our activity today was Te Reo Maori "what are you doing today?".

Firstly, I went on the Summer Learning Blog to see what to do for this activity.

After, I did my sixth slides, the first one was to figure out the three Te Reo Maori words in the sentence, the second slide was to put the sentence all together, the third and fourth slides was "where are you", and the last 2 was to answer the questions of "where are you".

Later, I watched the "prouncing different Te Reo Maori alphabets", I followed along prouncing the alphabets so I can learn them.

I enjoyed doing this activity, I am also happy that I got to learn different Maori words, and figure out the words for the sentences.

LI: to do Te Reo Maori

Kowhaiwhai Pattern l Tanerore

I have completed a new Summer Learning Journey task today, the task was called "Tanerore", this SLJ task is part of a maori story about "the son of Tama-nui-te-ra".

First, I figured out what to do, and also learnt about the Tanerore before creating something, we watched a video, and read something.

After, I finished watching the video and reading the information about Tanerore, I started creating a Koru pattern, we also changed our background color into a sunset.

This activity was fun since I got to learn about it, create it, and share it, but I think next I could use different patterns and rotation except of two.

Insect Art l Summer Learning Journey

We carried on doing Summer Learning Journey today. Todays task was to create a insect using leaves, petals, and twigs.

First, I thought about what insect I should do, I chose to do a butterfly using sticks, flowers, and leaves.

After I went outside and found the stuff I needed to make my creation (the insect).

Later, I made my insect, I cutted some holes in my leave to put some flowers and sticks in, I also put the wings with leaves.

I enjoyed making this creation and thought it was fun, I also enjoyed making the flowers and wings. The name I chose for my insect is Fowal since I am getting the first letter of each of my closest friends.

Comment Thread l SLJ

We carried on doing Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) this week, I comment threaded on Mercy today.

A comment thread is a conversation that can help give detail about you and other, it can give questions, feelings, and welcome (e.g: hi, kia ora, hola, etc).

First, I looked on the Summer Learning Journey blog, I went on the blog and saw the video giving information on how to quality comment.

After, commented on Mercy's blogpost for her fishing false teeth blogpost for Summer Learning Journey.

I enjoyed seeing what she has been doing and how she is being active with the Summer Learning Journey.

LI: to write a quality comment.

Fishing False Teeth l SLJ

We have done a new task today for the Summer Learning Journey, it was called Fishing False Teeth.

First, we read the article and understand what we needed to do for this activity, we also watched the video of the fishing false teeth.

After, we did our first template, we did this to understand who they are, what part are they in the story, and what was the outcome for them.

Later, we did the comic, for the comic you imagine what the people are saying.

I enjoyed doing this activity, but I thought the comics were kind of complicated since I had to write it in my own words.

Summer Learning Journey l Scavenger Hunt

Recently we started the Summer Learning Journey's first task, this task was a scavenger hunt.

The Summer Learning Journey new theme and name is "Celebrating Summer", Summer Learning Journey can help create more knowledge.

First, we gathered into our inquiry groups, and waited until we can start the scavenger hunt. While we waited we watched the video from Nanogirl's lab.

Later we started the scavenger hunt, we had to find different objects on the list and record/take a photo of them.

I enjoyed doing this acitvity, but I think next time I should be looking at different places instead of only one workspace.

Presenting l Inquiry

My group and I have presented our script.

We all practised our lines and script before we present it.

Then we said out script, with the script we needed the presentation open, and we need to remember the words that we say.

Later, we got our feedback, we got feedback on what was good, and the things that does not make senses and what we need to work on more.

My group and I did not get the contract eventually, but the feedback my group and I got was that if the hexagon rolls over it can hurt you because, we are using stainless steel as one of our materials. The other feedback I got was that I could use another word instead of discovering, I think next time I should memorize my lines.

Reading Strategies l Cloth Activity

There are many reading comprehension strategies that can help understanding when reading, e.g. making connections, predicting, inferring, summarising, prior knowledge.

Reading strategies that can be used before reading are, inferring, and prior knowledge, inferring is when you find out what happens next using all the proof you have already.

Reading strategies that can be used while reading are predicting, and visualising, visualising is when you create a picture in your mind about what happened.

Reading strategies that can be used after reading are questioning, and summarising, summarising is when you give the main points and information from what happened in the book.

There are many reading strategies that can be useful for all, while reading, before reading, and after reading.

LI: to practise comphresion skills

Filming l Narratives

We recorded our film for my groups narrative. We used Fotu's film. Fotu's film was explaining how working can sometimes get into arguements and disagreements.

First, the people in the film practised their scenes in the film, and they learnt their lines.

Then, my group and I started filming the scenes, I was the one filming with the camera.

I enjoyed having the opportunity to film the video, but I think next time I should improve on the camera movements.

LI: To film a screenplay

Quiz Results l Who won?

Recently, we have made different quizzes to test our partners knowledge and see what questions that they should work on more, we have also been tested on different math equations.

First, I started with my first quiz from Chisa, the first quiz came up to twenty questions that uses addition, subtractions, mutiplication, and divison. The score and time I got was four minutes and fourty-seven seconds, and my score was twelve out of twenty points.

After, I started on my second quiz from Chisa, the second quiz came up to fifteen questions and they used, measurement, time, money, statistics, fractions, and geomtry. My score was ten out of fifteen questions that were correct.

I enjoyed answering each questions, and finding out where I am at for my knowledge. But next time I think I should improve on the questions Chisa gave me.

Summer Learning Journey l Teaser Week

The Summer Learning journeys is a progamme that can help you be active while summer, every year represents a new theme and name that can also come with different activies. The summer learning journey also helps create new knowledge and information about different sources.

We recently did our kick start activity to understand the definitons of the theme, name, and what the Summer Learning Journey means this year.

The kick start activity uses a colouring book, and you get the option to colour anything in the art peice, there is a limit of 16 colors, the coloring pad has access to draw quickly when you press somewhere on the art peice.

I think the kick start activity is a good way to colour, and enjoying the reason of colouring, you also get to have the options of colors which also is fun.

Towns l North Island

This week we carried on learning the different meanings of the towns in the North Island.

First, we answered the questions, "he aha te ra apopo" (what is the date tommorow?), "he aha te huarere" (whats the weather?), and "ko wai o hoa" (who are your friends?).

Afterwards we searched up the different towns in the North Island, we could not use the Maori Dictionary and instead used Google.

Later, we marked our work and saw which of them were right and which of the words and their meanings are wrong.

I had fun during this acitvity, but next time I think I should not make any mistakes.

They Plot Revenge?! l Novel Studies

The Twits is fictional book created by Roald Dahl, the chapter 24-26 talks about how they plot revenge on The Twits.

First when the monkeys and bird plot revenge, they had a plan to stick the furniture on the walls so The Twits think they are upside down.

Later, the roly-poly bird looked outside if The Twits (Mr Twit and Mr Twit) were home from buying guns, when the bird saw them he flew back down and he eventually ask the monkeys to get out of the house. Then the monkeys went back into their cage and acted like nothing happened.

The Twits is a interesting but funny book that can be read from all ages, espically kids.

Resource Requisition l Inquiry

Most natural disasters are common and can be found at any time in the world.

Humans need shelters and protection during a natural disaster. Storms may be common disasters but are really powerful sometimes.

All materials can be useful for something during a natural disaster, e.g: wool can keep you warm, stainless steel is a strong material that can not break, cardboard is an inside wall, etc.

Shelters windows could use strong clear plastic, since they are strong it would be hard for it to break, popsicle sticks can break easily but if you put a lot of layers there's a chance it can not break

Mathematics also can help during buying products to prevent natural disasters. The mathematics to measure our products we are using for the shelter.

Natural disasters come in all sorts, and sometimes make global problems around the world.

Kapa Haka l Performance

Today I saw a performance from the kapa haka group, we also learnt about the Maori traditional language and weapons that can be used by protecting them and for hakas and waiatas.

First I saw the kapa haka group do a Maori intro ceremony, they used a conch to make a loud noise so people can get there attention and know they arrived.

Next they introduced themself, and they performed a dance to us for their welcoming, they also gave us information about the different Maori objects you can use to perform, e.g: poi, ti rakau, and taiaha.

Later, we saw a performance from the kapa haka boys, that did a Haka for a response to the Kapa haka group.

The classes went to a Maori teacher and they played games, LS1 played matou and maui, matou is right, and maui is left what we had to do do is peform a circle then we get a Rakau and then the Maori teacher says Maui or Matau then we go left or right.

I enjoyed this weeks kapa haka performance, I enjoyed it since I got to have the opportunity to play Maui and Matou, and learn about the different performing objects.

Two Man & Three Man l Touch Rugby

We carried on learning the basics of three man, and two man settles, we also played some games of touch rugby.

First, we gathered into equal groups, we practised two and three man settles, we practised this to get ready for a touch game. Couch Mark told us to aim for one person when we drive the ball down the field.

Next we played a game of touch tugby. We played a game of touch so we can learn how to play and how to use a two man and three man settles.

I improved in my catching and passing, but I think next time while I play I should get included more in the game of touch, and communicate with my partners more often.

Fractions, Decimals, and Percentage l Maths

Fractions and decimal uses symbols in the middle of the number, and percentage uses it in the start of the number.

Fractions is a equal peice of a whole, in fractions it uses denominater and numerator. The numerator is the top number of the fraction, the denominater is the bottom number of the fractions.

Example: 1/2 the 1 is the numerator, and the denominater is 2, 6/7 the 6 is the numerator and the denominater is 7.

In fractions there are Equilivlant and Improper Fraction, equilivlant fractions is a fraction that is similar/same with the bottom number.

Decimals are a number that can be defined as a whole number, the dot that is in the middle of the decimal is the decimal point.

Percentages are part of fractions, the denominator turns into a decimal and is divided by 100. To change a decimal to perecentage you mutiply by 100.

Fractions, decimals, and percentage have something in common to each other.

Names

This week, I carried on with learning names in Maori. I also learnt new words in Maori.

Firstly, I learnt the words shoes/shoewear, give it, here/recieve, and more. I switched cards with other people so we all get turns learning new Maori words.

After, I started another Maori sheet to translate names, I looked on the list first to figure out the words I already know in Maori and write the answers.

Later, the words that I did not know in Maori, I searched on Maori Dictionary, e.g: Rona (Lona), Heni (Jame), Kewene (Kevin), etc.

Maori can be difficult sometimes, but I am happy that I got to learn it.

Basic Facts l Maths

This week I did basic facts challenge, basic facts helps educate different equations. It helps learn more of addition, subtractions, mutiplications, and division.

I tried doing divisions and my timer was 6m, 00, I am happy that I tried divisions and my scores were good.

I enjoyed doing basic facts boxes, and I am happy that I tried division but next time I hope I can do all boxes instead of just 4 division boxes, and improve on my time.

Kiwi Sport l Touch Rugby

This week for kiwisport, we did our first game of touch using three man and two man settle.

We first gathered up into two different group for defending and attacking.

After, we played our first game, my group started off with the two man settle and we worked our way through it.

A two man settle is two people planting the ball, running the ball, and passing the ball. A three man settle is the same procedure as two man settle but it uses three people instead.

LI: To play touch rugby.

SSR Selfie l James & the Giant Peach

This week I did SSR Selfie on the book called "James and The Giant Peach".

Firstly, I read the book for 15 minutes, then I wrote the information from the book into my slide.

SSR selfie explains the author, illustrator of the book, the main characters, what happened in the book, and your emotions about the book.

James and the Giant Peach is a books that connects to what happened in James past life and what is happening while he was away from his cruel aunts, he felt happier and had more excitment while he was away.

Statistics l Maths

I did a data set from athletics days to discover the group scores and points.

A data set is a group of numbers. To add them up you can use repeating addition, or mutiplications. A data set usually uses mutiplication since it is easier to use to solve equations, when you're using mutiplication it is easier since if you're using addition you may get the wrong number. Mutiplication is used like this: (3x2)+(2x4) = 14, instead of 2 + 2 + 5 + 5 = 14.

To find a averages you add numbers up and divide them. Averages is used like this: 14÷2 = 7, then 140÷2 = 70, next we divide the 7 by 2. The 7 is made out of 70 tenths. There is no 2 in 7 so we we put the 7 with the 70 and that makes 70.7.

Mutiplication is a easy way to solve data sets and get the answer earlier than repeating addition.

Maori l Locations

This week I translated different mountains around Auckland from Maori to English.

First, I got a list of sites that I needed to use to translate the words.

Afterwards, I went on the Maori Dictionary and I translated the mountains.

Later, I learnt the words ok, no, quiet, and hat in Maori.

I think Maori is a inspiration culture and language.

The Twits is a fiction book created by Roald Dahl. Chapters 20 to 23 are about how the monkeys escape and want to plan revenge on The Twits.

The monkeys escaped when The Twits went down the road to buy guns. They went the right way up and asked the roly-poly bird to get the keys.

To get revenge the monkeys planned to get Hug Tight sticky glue, and pour it around The Twits house.

The Twits is a really interesting book made for all ages.

Manakalani Films l Sylvia Park

On Wednesday afternoon, Panmure Bridge went to Sylvia Parks cinema to watch movies from different schools around Auckland.

We watched Manakalani films, I think they were really cool and interesting.

We watched our movie first, our movie explains how you should sanatise and be careful for germs while we have a pandemic (COVID-19).

I commented on Glen Innes School, and their movie explaining how the pandemic make most essential workers really busy.

Narrative l Screenplays

Screenplays help manage the names, the setting, and the scene of a narrative.

The screneplays uses names, scene, and the setting, the name is the person talking/speaking, the scene is what chapter it is, and the setting is where it is at, and what they are doing usually.

While using a screen play the names go on top, in the middle and is in caps (ABC), the scene is on the left side and explains the setting under, the name is important since they know who is speaking.

Screenplays help explain different things for a narrative.

The Twits l Reading

The Twits is a fiction book created by Roald Dahl.

First, 4 boys were stuck to the dead tree by Mr Twits sticky glue, so they ran away with their pants stuck to the tree.

Next, the monkeys are trapped in a cage in Mr Twit's backyard because one day, Mr Twit wants to start a monkey circus.

After that, Muggle-Wamp and his family want to escape and go back to the Africian-Jungle.

Later, Mr Twit wakes up to collect birds for his bird pie but he could not find any birds.

The Twits is a funny book, and enjoyable for all ages especially children.

Sharing Knowledge l Maths

This week for maths, I learnt different maths, stategies, and the skills it used to make that maths, we all each got a partner and we talked about what we learnt while doing maths, and the stuff they have been doing with maths.

Firstly we got our first partner, My partner explained what the written alogritim is used for, and how it works she also told me a example so I can know it proberly, she gave an example of the place value house using the written alogritim.

I got taught how to do written alogritim. Written alogritim is when you is when you solve a problem using a range of stategies to work out a answer, e.g: place value, addition, subtraction, mutiplication, division, etc.

Then, I went with my second partner, he used geography and he taught me what it uses, and how you can solve mathmatics with it, he also taught me the basic meaning of geography and what he learnt from it.

Geography is to study places, it helps  you the true meanings of nature, society, water, fire, flowers, grass, trees, culture, and more.

I enjoyed learning different things, and enjoyed teaching others about different kinds of maths, I think I was a good teacher because they got to think about the maths I did. I think David and O'ninesha were good teachers to me too.

Designing Shelters l Inquiry

This week for inquiry, we learnt how to make 3D emergency shelters.

We firstly drawed a emergency shelter on paper to know the shelter we will be making..

After, we needed to know what shape it uses so we could create it. The reason why we needed to know the shape was because to know if it could get wind inside, or not.

Then we started making the shelter on Sketchup, while we used sketchup it was fun since we got to create our own shelter.

Some materials that are good to create with shelters are: stone, and brick, they are good to use for materials since they can prevent the wind from coming inside since the material it uses is strong.

Materials like stone and brick can protect from wind since their material is really strong and heavy, metal and steel can also protect from wind too since they are also strong from wind.

My group and I found this really interesting and fun, since we got to create our own shelter using Sketchup.

Kiwi Sport l Touch Rugby

This week for kiwisport we learnt how to three man settle, and two man settle.

Firstly we did 3 man settle, for three man settle there is three people, one wing, one runner, and one dummyhalf.

Then, we learnt how to do two man settle. The two man settle is with two people, one dummyhalf and one winger.

Later we played walking touch, we used the same method (three man & two man), but we had to walk.

I am happy that I learnt how to do three man & two man settle, but I was really exhausted

Money l Maths

Money can help pay for different things, e.g: house, petrol, clothes, toys, food, furniture, etc.

The cents and coins currencies in NZ are: 10c, 20c, 50c, 1D, and 2D, the notes currencies in NZ are: 5D, 10D, 20D, 50D, and 100D.

Money is different in each country. The colours are different and worths are different, and the currencies are also different too.

Example: If somebody had 5 dollars and spended 2.50 on a ice block, the first thing they will give is two $1 (or two $2 dollars), that makes 4.50, and then another 50 cents makes that 5.00 so the answer is 2.50 returned back.

Money can do mathmatics to solve things, so while you grow up mathmatics should be useful.

Interschool l Touch Rugby

On wednesday some people from LS1 & LS2 went to Dunkrik Reserve for a friendly touch rugby tournament. The competetion was split into Y5, Y6, Y7, and Y8 groups of people.

We firstly waited until our first competetion, when we started we competed with Sylvia Park School, there communicating skills looked really good, we eventually lost that game from 0 to 5.

After, we competed with St.Patrick. While we competed with them I thought they were really good, the points were 3 to 3 points so it was a tie luckily.

Then we competed with Sylvia Park 2, sylvia part two was with another team of people in Y5, we tied with them from 2 to 2.

Later, we competed with our last school it was Stone Fields, I thought Stone Fields were really fast while they were playing, we sadly lost the game to 2 to 3.

I liked the way every school was communicating, and how our games were improving from our first game, I was disappointed my team and I only got to play 4 games but I was happy that I was particpating in this sport.

Idiom l An apple a day keeps the doctor away l Call it a day l easy as ABC

This week for reading we were explaining different idioms. An idiom is a phrase that means something different to what it usually means.

We picked three idioms which was: an apple a day keeps the doctor away meaning apples are healthy and good for you, call it a day meaning time to quit, and as easy as ABC meaning something very easy.

After we picked three idioms we wrote a script and created videos to explain the idioms we chose visually.

I enjoyed this activity and I hope I will do it again.

The Twits l Reading

The Twits talks about two old people hating children, capturing monkeys in cages, and more, The author of the book was by Roald Dahl.

The ballooning down chapter talks about how Mrs Twit wants to float down from the balloon so she begins to float downwards.

The horrid shock chapter explains how, Mr Twit was drinking a mug of beer until Mrs Twit comes floating down.

The house chapter talks about how Mrs Twit & Mr Twit house is really dirty and cant be taken care of, dead flowers rotting and dead trees.

The hugtight chapter talks about how Mr Twit kills birds every once a week and Mrs Twit cooks bird pie for their lunch.

These book is really inspiring and is really enjoyable to read.

Areas Of Math l Law

Law uses different stategies in maths to win a trial, it uses math like: algebra, logic, statistics, trigonometry, calculations, percentage, geometry, etc.

Lawyers use these kinds of maths to understand different numbers, and evidence that can think logically usually, especially in the courtroom.

It is really important to be good at maths, since someday if you get a job you can understand what maths you will need to use and the skills that can come with it.

The Twits l Reading

The Twits talks about two old people hating children, capturing monkeys in cages, and more, The author of the book was by Roald Dahl.

Story webs is part of novel studies, it is when you be specific of the 4 W's and sometimes the 1 h, you give the location, what are they doing, who is in the story, and why did they do that, and the 1 h gives how they did that.

The walking stick talks about how Mr Twit puts wood in the walking stick to make Mrs Twit fall from the wormy spaghetti, at night time while Mrs Twit was sleeping Mr Twit crept out of bed and took Mrs Twits walking stick down stairs to his workshed, then every night he would put wood inside of the walking stick.

The shrink chapter explains how when Mrs Twit sat down Mr Twit shouted "You're sitting in your old chair, you've shrunk so much your feet are not even touching the ground" Mr Twit says, Mrs Twit then agree's that she must've shrunk a little. Then Mr Twit "You've got to be stretched!"

The ballon chapter talks about how, Mr Twit led Mrs Twit outdoors he got everything ready, he got one hundred balloons and lots of strings holding them together, he had a gas cylinder for filling the balloons, he had fixed an iron ring into the ground, "stand here" Mr Twit says, he then began filling the balloons with gas, each balloon was on a long string and when it was filled with gas it pulled on its string, soon there were fifty coloured balloons floating in the air above, "can you feel them stretching you?" Mr Twit says, "I can, I can" cried Mrs Twit. "they're stretching me like mad." she says, then Mr Twit puts ten other balloons on, Mrs Twit was quite helpless now.

I think these 2 chapters I was reading were really splendid, and enjoyable.

This week for Maori, we translated words from different locations, translated some Maori words, and more.

We firstly just sat on the mat, and translated roto, waho, runga, raro, mua, and muri, and played a game for the game we guessed each word but with sticks.

Then, we translated words from the table, we went on Maori Dictionary some words that I learnt are: Kotira (to be a girl), Hangi (earth oven), and mahunga (mountain).

Then I translated locations across New Zealand, I learnt lots of words in maori e.g: Maungarei (Mt.Wellington), Maungawhai (Mt.Eden), and Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill).

Warm & Cold l Experiementing Science

An insulator is something to stop heat travelling from place to place.

Keeping it warm, and keeping it cold can help test the insulator.

Materials that can handle Warm objects are, e.g: a tin cup. A tin cup is hot because it can control the heat, and the material for the cup is metal.

Materials that can handle cold objects is, e.g: a glass cup, it is cold because using warm water can not control the heat proberly, and it can make it break. But using cold water it can control it.

The similar things between cold and hot are that they both cant control heat for different materials, or objects.

Governing Topic's, or policies are actions that political parties want to put into actions to get power

Health means something keeping good hygiene like, brush your teeth, brush your hair, wash your hands, etc. It is also somebodys well-being.

Education is important to me, because you get the opportunity to learn new things, and it can educate you more, find new friends, do art, and more!

There are 13 topics and they are: transport & infrastructure, education, health, enconomy, defence & foreign affairs, borders & migration, community & inlusion, enviroment, housing, te ao maori, income and employment, law justice and goverment, media, culture, and recreation.

Basketball l Maths.

Rounding is a strategy in maths. That can help understand addition and division.

We used rounding on a activity, the activity was bouncing a basketball 50 times, and repeating it 5 times.

Rounding mean to circle the nearest ten, hundreds, thousands, etc.

Round to the nearest ten can help with division, there is down ↓ and up ↑ the down numbers are 1,2,3,4, and the up numbers are 5,6,7,8,9.

Division is when you share to make it equal, for example 4 donuts, the correct answer is 2, because 2 ÷ 1 = 2, and 2 + 2 = 4.

Addition (+), can help with adding numbers, for example 5 + 5 = 10, how I know?, if you put 5 fingers, and add another 5 it is 10!

Each activity, basketball, skipping, paperplance, and ping pongs are all physical activity's, that can help investigate time.

Rounding is a skill in maths, that can help understand different equations.

LI - to investigate units of time.

Rewriting l Writing

Rewriting is a task that changes half, some, etc, of the story, and give your own idea's.

The part's I changed are the gruffalo, into peppa pig, and some of the scripts and scenes.

I have also gave new ideas for the character's looks, e.g I changed : pink dress, pink tail, pink horns, etc.

The story I changed scenes, and scripts was from "the gruffalo".

The story "the gruffalo", talks about animals wanting to eat a little brown mouse, but the little brown mouse considered to describe how a gruffalo looks to run away from them, but then he seems to believe that the gruffalo is real, when he bumps into him.

Rewriting a story, narrative, movie, etc, can help understand what comes from your mind.

Character traits l Facts and opinions

I learnt how to create a character trait & fact and opinion.

First I started with facts & opinions, facts talk about information that actually took place, opinions infer by using a fact.

After I did character trait, a character trait user adjective+verb, it explains the feeling about the person, animal, etc.

Then, I carried on with the other character traits they are. fox, snake, owl, and mouse.

Facts and opinions, and character trait can help Fthe understanding of what is in the book.

LI - To infer.

Setting description. l Explaination.

A setting descriptions explains the smells like, sounds like, looks like, and feels like.

The setting description is from "the gruffalo".

The setting description could use similies "like" or "as", for example - as rough as a rock, it is Like tree, etc.

If you describe the sound it should explain the noise level it is at, for example - loud, silent, mute, etc.

The smell should explain about the character scent,or their surronding thats gives scent.

Looks describe how the object from the picture, for example : flower, tea cup, water, lake, etc.

Feels describe the objects texture, for example - hard, bumpy, sharp, etc.

Smell, look, sound, and feels helps the reader understand the setting.

By describing the smell, the look, the sound, and the feel of a setting, it helps the reader understand more about where the story takes place.

LI - to write a setting description

Inquiry l Low, Likely, Possible, Evalutad, and extreme.

This week we learnt about risks.

We rated situations on low risk, likely risk, possible risk, evaluated risk, and extreme risk. Low is In most cases are risks that can be  avoided by common sense. Likely in most cases can be avoided by common sense with application of skill. Possible are Risks that are contained by application of safety procedures. Evaluated is something that safety procedures only limit some danger. Extreme is something that out number the safety procedures and danger that is about to happen.

Later we wrote our own situations that match each risk level.

Low, Likely, possible, evaluated, and extreme, all describe different levels of risk.

LI - To access likelihood.

LI - To access consequences.a
