Similes are a comparison of two things using "like" or "as...as"

"Like" similes can compare to an action/doing word, e.g. she can run like the wind.

"As... as" compares to an describing word, e.g. she is as slow as the sun.

Similes can help describe objects or actions in an intersting way.
